Tank farm construction as part of the "Caustization and regeneration of lime plant" upgrade
For the purposes of increase in capacity of the enterprise and increase in output, the Saratov Reservoir Plant completed a work package on the supply of tank equipment according to the technical improvement plan.
The main feature of this project was the adjustment of foreign standards. Also, the construction at the facility was carried out in confined spaces, therefore the tanks were made by the plate-by-plate method.
Due to the high performance level, the SARRZ Plant was able to establish partnership relations with the Customer and implement the project in accordance with the approved work specification.
Main specifications:
- Stored product - industrial alkalies and condensates;
- VST amount - 10 pcs with the capacity of 7100 m3, 1174 m3, 1045 m3, 427 m3, 55 m3, 22 m3, 12,4 m3, 9 m3;
- Material - 09G2S/AISI 304;
- Erection procedure - plate-by-plate method.
Specific features and complexities of the project
The key feature of this project was the performance of the work package on the supply of tanks with a capacity of 7100 m3 - 2 pcs., 1174 m3 - 1 pcs., 1045 m3 - 1 pcs., 427 m3 - 2 pcs., 55 m3 - 1 pcs., 22 m3 - 1 pcs., 12,4 m3 - 1 pcs., 9 m3 - 1 pcs.
The second complexity of work was the severe climate: the city of Bratsk is located in the Far North. This city is characterized by frequent change of weather, high humidity and cold winter.
The third feature of the project is the need not only to develop a complete set of design and operational documents for 10 vertical tanks, but also to adapt it to the requirements of foreign standards.
The professional Staff of the Saratov Reservoir Plant carried out a complete cycle of work on the construction of a tank farm as part of the "Caustization and regeneration of lime plant" upgrade. The following works were performed:
- development of design documentation, including the KM project (steel structures), steel structures details, TI (heat insulation);
- vertical tanks steel structures by the plate-by-plate method from steel grade 09G2S and AISI 304.
