To the Customer, the priority when choosing the contractor was the choice of a reliable and reputable company that could confirm the compliance of the implemented projects with quality standards and was scrupulously about the manufacturing technique realized. Due to the high level of performance standards performed and output quality, the SARRZ Plant was able to establish contractual relations with the Customer and implement the project in accordance with the given technical requirements for production and work specification.
Main specifications:
- Stored product - pure water, the capacity of the tank - 3000 m3;
- Material - 09G2S;
- The maintainance of the temperature of the operating medium at a given level is provided by the heat insulator;
- The tank may be operated at sub-zero ambient temperatures;
- The fluid level in the tank is controlled by a noncontact measurement technique due to an ultrasonic level gage.
Specific features and complexities of the project
When performing the work, the SARRZ Plant needed to pay special attention to packaging, paperwork and organizing an itinerary of cargo movements, which was caused by the need to transport the vertical tank through the territory of three states: Russia, Georgia and Armenia.
It was also necessary to choose a paint coat that would fit the restrictions set by the Customer on the material warranty period and on the possiblity of its operation at sub-zero temperatures. Additionally, the coating had to be environmentally clean material and meet increased sanitary requirements, which is a mandatory requirement in case of prolonged contact with / and storage of pure water.
Project documentation development included KM project (steel structures), KZh project (RC construction), TI project (heat insulator), AKZ project (corrosion protection system). The manufacture of steel structures of the tank shell and bottom was carried out in the factory by roll method from 09G2S steel grade. Erection procedure included unrolling of tank shell plates, welding of butt joints, laying of the roof steel structures, assembly of stairs and service platforms.
After the construction and assembly operations, the non-destructive inspection laboratory, represented by an independent panel of experts, took the quality assessment of the tank erection.
After the construction was completed, the height of the VST-3000 was 11920 mm, the diameter was 18980 mm.
